Roger Shrimpton was born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, UK in 1948. After graduating, obtaining his master´s and Ph.D. in the seventies, he worked for thirty years as a nutritionist for the United Nations as well as the Indonesian and Brazilian governments. On retiring in 2009 he and his wife Regina moved to Olhão and the Algarve sunshine. He only recently joined the APG, returning to his student day hobby of photography. Having abandoned his cumbersome SLR over a decade ago, he currently uses a Canon IXUS, and is looking forward to venturing further into the “new world” of compact system cameras. He greatly appreciates the comraderie and the exposure to new ideas and opportunities to practice “taking pictures” that the APG provides.
